About Us

The Animal Health Clinic of Funkstown is a full-service veterinary practice established in 1993 by owner and Veterinarian Dr. Virginia Scrivener. Dr. Scrivener attended Boonsboro High School, HCC and University of Maryland before heading to the Ohio State where she earned her DVM in 1988.  She opened her first practice, the Animal Health Clinic of Funkstown in 1993 and her second practice the Animal Rehab & Pain Center in 2014.

OUR PATIENTS

In this female driven practice, we have a highly skilled team that shares Dr. Scrivener’s vision of strengthening the human-animal bond through education and fear-free philosophies so that we can provide the best and most up-to-date care possible for our patients. 

At the Animal Health Clinic, we value our canine and feline patients and aim to provide the highest standard of care by providing our pet parents all the resources they need to make the best possible choices concerning their pet’s health.

OUR COMMUNITY

Our Doctors and staff understand that we would not be here if it wasn’t for the people of this community and we are dedicated to giving back to those that have welcomed us so openly for the last 30 years.   Over the years we have been constant supported many organizations like the  National MS Society’s annual MS Walk, the Community Free Clinic of Washington County, the Olive Tree Nicaragua, REACH of Washington County, Girls Inc., Big Brother Big Sister, Sweats for Vets, the Humane Society of Washington County, STEAM programs, and local Senior living facilities.

We have been proud to serve this community for 30 years and hope to continue to serve the community for 30 more.
