Parrot Play Time

Pajama Party
If you have a friend or family member that enjoys your parrot and will take good care of him, have him spend the night with them once every week or so.  You can also take your pet to work with you from time to time or to a friends for just a visit.

Peek-a-boo
Place your parrot on a large neutral colored towel on your bed.  Slowly bring up the corners to hide his head.  Uncover him and say "peek-a-boo". Gradually increase the towel contact until he is used to and enjoys playing in it.  This is also the best way to make the towel your bird's friend so that he doesn't panic when he has to be toweled at the vets.

Swings
Place your parrot on a swing on your bed.  Gently swing him back and forth.  As he develops his balancing skill you can swing him a little faster and a little higher.  Once he as developed his balancing skills move the swing into his cage.  The swing should be the highest point in the cage to make it more enjoyable for him to use.

Merry-Go-Round
Place the baby parrot on a towel over the bed.  Make sure he has a good grip, pick up the towel gently swing it back and forth.  You may also twist the towel at the top so that he twists around.  This should only be done in a slow and gentle manner.

Time Alone
All bird should learn that there are times when the must entertain themselves.  Giving young birds constant attention or responding to it's every whim will cause it to demand it of you every minute you are there.
